The mission of SCDC is to provide a faith-based learning environment to equip each child with the knowledge, skills, and values to be a successful learner. We are committed to providing a high quality, comprehensive education program that supports the optimal development of the whole child.
A great deal of formative learning and discovery for young children is through play. Play is the fundamental vehicle through which children learn and construct their own understanding about the world around them. Our program will reflect the philosophy that the preschool years are fun and that meaningful learning occurs in a safe environment where children are actively engaged.

| The Arizona Department of Education published The Arizona Early childhood Standards based upon well-known models of early childhood education such as Creative Curriculum, Head Start, Montessori, and Core Knowledge Sequence. These standards reflect the growing consensus among early childhood proffesionals that greater emphasis be placed on young child's conceptual learning, especially acquisition of language and literacy. SCDC is implenting Creative Curriculum for Toddlers and the Core Knowkedge Sequence and Zoo Phonics for three to five year olds. A faith-based component will include Bible Stories, Character-Building Strategies, and Christian Songs. |
